Sfouf (or sllou)


This pictures does it no justice, but will give you some idea of what I’m talking about.

Fried almonds, toasted sesame seeds, browned flour, butter, sugar, maybe some peanuts… YUM!

These are most of the ingredients for sfouf (also called sllou, zmita, and several other names). It’s a dish served primarily during Ramadan and full of nutrients and calories. It tastes great, but a few bites fill you up quickly.

As stated above: Yum!
